As a teacher, I try to savor the month of June. Although we might go on vacation, have appointments to catch up one, and l oved ones to hang out with, I do my best to not schedule too much. I don't want to GO places if I don't have to. I want to hide out in my house and go for walks and eat and use the bathroom when I want to. I do NOT want to talk with people. It's lovely and lazy and completely boring (especially if you ask my 9 year old daughter). I do NOTHING school related.

This year, June has flown past and I'm suddenly very aware of the fact that July is only one month. A measly 31 days left of summer to do ALL THE THINGS. So I will be entering July with the anxiety that comes with being a teacher who wants to know what she's teaching and who come fall. Because as soon as August hits, I have 12 days to prepare myself mentally and emotionally for the intensity of back to school.

How do you feel about the way summer just slides away from us?
